Kovatec acts as an Application Service Provider (ASP) for JDS Uniphase’s Optical Amplifier Manufacturing Department. We provide an outsourced secure Web-based document storage site for the engineering department’s retrieval and distribution of vital information.

JDS had been facing serious document retrieval constraints hampering the efficiences of the Optical Amplifier Manufacturing Department. Kovatec managed to solve the problem within a four-week timeframe by scanning the department’s current document backfile and storing the PDF images in a secure repository. Users access documents using a secure extranet browser. If the engineers at JDS need a document in a meeting, they simply use the projector and project right from the Internet. Kovatec now hosts more than 3 million JDS mission critical documents on-line and the storage site will grow as the company’s planned expansion continues.
